The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue meets This is How You Lose The Time War in this fantastical love story that defies death as two souls reincarnate through the centuries.
They've loved each other in a thousand lifetimes. They've killed each other in every one.
Evelyn remembers all her past lives. She also remembers that in every single one, she’s been murdered before her eighteenth birthday by Arden, a supernatural being whose soul―and survival―is tethered to hers.
The problem is that she’s quite fond of the life she’s in now, and her little sister needs her for bone marrow transplants in order to stay alive. If Evelyn wants to save her sister, she’ll have to:
1. Find the centuries-old devil who hunts her through each life―before they find her first.
2. Figure out why she’s being hunted and finally break their curse.
3. Try not to fall in love.

“The cruelest fate the gods and stars had ever written: the person I loved most in the world was the person who would ultimately destroy me.”
Did I adore Our Infinite Fates so much that I had to pre-order a special edition? You bet I did. There is some hype around this one, but it is all deserved- in fact, I daresay there isn’t enough. This story weaves through time in a way so devastatingly beautiful that I simply could not put it down. I cried, I smiled, I swooned… there is just so much to this story to love! Obviously, you can tell there is a romance, but that is just one incredible layer. The fantasy element is wonderfully done, which is high praise coming from someone so picky about fantasy. I loved the glimpses into the past (and it was very clear that the author did her homework for each time period), and I equally loved the “current” timeline. Evelyn was an incredibly well developed and enjoyable character, and I was so very invested in her story. Honestly, I cannot muster a single negative about this book, so you should probably go read it now.
Bottom Line: So beautiful, so entrancing, I loved every minute.

One of the greatest love stories in history gets derailed when a struggling poet at Cambridge runs into a time-traveler who agrees to help him find his muse—a thoughtful and uplifting romantic comedy for fans of About Time and The Midnight Library.
Cambridge University, 2005: Student Joe Greene scribbles verses in the margins of his notebook, dreaming of a future where his words will echo through the ages, all while doubting it could ever happen.
Then, the future quite literally finds him—in the form of Esi. She’s part of a time-traveling tour, a trip for people in the future to witness history’s greatest moments firsthand. The star of this tour? Joe Greene. In Esi’s era, Joe is as renowned as Shakespeare. And he’s about to meet Diana, a fellow student and aspiring actress, who will become his muse and the subject of his famous love poems.
But Esi is harboring a secret. She’s not here because she idolizes Joe—actually, she thinks his poetry is overrated. Something will happen at Cambridge this year that will wreck Esi’s life, and she’s hell-bent on changing it. When Esi goes rogue from her tour, she bumps into Joe and sends his destiny into a tailspin. To save both their futures, Esi becomes Joe’s dating coach, helping him win over Diana. But when Joe’s romantic endeavors go off-script—and worse, he starts falling for Esi instead—they both face a crucial question: Is the future set in stone, or can we pen our own fates?

Oh, how I adored this story! It is funny and witty, but also very profound in places. Also, I loved the take on time travel! Imagine, running time travel tours and then having the hubris to actually think it won’t be royally messed up! But our main character Joe doesn’t know what he’s in store for when he meets Esi, and reading it all play out was delightful! I also loved Esi, and was so mad at Joe for actually trying to wind up with the incredibly frustrating Diana. But, watching the growth that Joe and Esi undergo was worth it, frankly. I loved the charm of this story, and I can’t recommend it enough!
Bottom Line: Heartfelt and charming, this book won me over completely.

Lore Olympus meets Winter's Orbit in this pulse-pounding romance between a space mercenary and a super soldier whose mind-control breaks when she touches him.
He's a mind controlled killing machine, until her touch frees him.
Engineer Caro Ogunyemi thinks she has everything in control. Sure, she has a dark secret in her past and aim so bad that she can’t shoot the side of a spaceship when she’s right in front of it, but those are minor details in the life of a space mercenary. When Caro embarks on a solo mission infiltrating a prison planet that is run by the deadly Pierce family, she embraces the opportunity to prove she’s a hero.
It's there that Caro meets Leviathan, a super soldier with a chip in his head that turns him into a mindless killer. He’s drop dead gorgeous with an emphasis on drop dead, until she touches him and renders his chip inert. The danger begins when she lets him go.
In the heart of enemy territory, where love is at stake, life is treacherous and time is short, Caro and Leviathan must figure out how to recover his agency, protect her crew from Pierce’s sinister machinations, and stage a prison-break before Leviathan is lost to her―and himself―forever.

This series is very fun, and I love a space adventure! As always, the characters are a huge highlight, and I enjoyed Caro’s story, and the romance! I also really enjoyed the friendships, and getting a glimpse of the characters from past installments. There is a lot of action, and for me personally, I maybe would have oddly liked a wee bit more downtime? But that is a personal preference and one that most people probably don’t agree with. Anyway, this was very fun and very readable. Love the banter and the humor, as always. Idk if there will be more in this world, but I will gladly read them if so!
Bottom Line: Another fun installment with space shenanigans and very enjoyable characters.

A wry, heartfelt tale of a teen who's taking her church camp by storm—one deadly sin at a time.
Riley quietly left church a year ago when she realized there was no place for a bi girl in her congregation. But it wasn’t until the pastor shunned her older sister for getting an abortion that she really wanted to burn it all down.
It’s just her luck, then, that she’s sent to the principal’s office for slapping a girl talking smack about her sister—and in order to avoid suspension, she has to spend spring break at church camp. The only saving grace is that she’ll be there with her best friend, Julia. Even if Julia’s dad is the pastor. And he’s in charge of camp. But Riley won’t let a technicality like “repenting” get in the way of her true mission. Instead of spending the week embracing the seven heavenly virtues, she decides to commit all seven deadly sins. If she can show the other campers that sometimes being a little bad is for the greater good, she could start a righteous revolution! What could possibly go wrong? Aside from falling for the pastor’s daughter . . .

This was very cute and fun and had some great commentary. We meet Riley, who is kind of forced into going to church camp to not get suspended. I feel like this requires some suspension of disbelief, because public school, but honestly these days who knows. Now, this is obviously a camp of some Christian denomination run by one of those psychos who is two steps away from being a cult leader. (Please note: I do not think all churches are this way, but I think too many of them are, and those are the ones being shown here. The definite, very real, dark side of organized religion.)
Anyway, Riley’s besties, Julia and Ben, are going to camp. Because it so happens their dad is Pastor Buttface, the same guy who legit kicked Riley’s sister out of the church and shamed the whole family because sis had an abortion. Luckily, Riley’s parents are the best, but it is still really hard for her, because she loves her friends but definitely not the dad. Because he sucks. A lot. Anyway, there are camp shenanigans and lots of character growth and friendships and maybe even a love story. It is very readable and entertaining, and I liked it a lot.
Bottom Line: Fun and entertaining but still thoughtful with important commentary.

From Bram Stoker Award finalist KC Jones comes White Line Fever, a harrowing thrill ride about friendship, trauma, and learning how to take the wheel of your own life.
At a passing glance, County Road 951 is an entirely unremarkable stretch of blacktop, a two-lane scar across the Cascade foothills of Central Oregon.
But the road is known by another name, coined by those who’ve had to clean up after all those scenic detours went horribly wrong: The Devil’s Driveway.
When Livia and her long-time friends take the Driveway as a shortcut to a much-needed weekend getaway, what begins as a morning joyride quickly becomes anything but. Soon, they’re driving for their lives, pursued by a horror beyond anything they ever imagined.
The Devil’s Driveway might be only 15 miles long, but with danger at every turn, it will take the four women to the very limits of their friendships and their sanity.
And there’s no telling what else lies in wait just beyond the bend.

White Line Fever was pretty good. Started off slow, and maybe a wee bit longer than it needed to be, but after the slow start I was definitely invested. The atmosphere is incredibly on point, and I could certainly imagine how messed up it would feel to be on this abandoned road and can’t really be sure if you can trust your own mind. Add to it that there is a pretty intense backstory for Livia and her friends as well as the road, and you definitely have an intriguing story! Sure, it’s odd, but I was very invested in the characters and what was going down on this road, so it was worth the ride (pun absolutely intended).
Bottom Line: Atmospheric and eerie, I also really cared about the characters and the history.

Rule One: Travel can only occur to a point within your lifetime.Rule Two: You can only travel for ninety seconds.Rule Three: You can only observe. The rules cannot be broken.
In this riveting science fiction novel from acclaimed author Philip Fracassi, a scientist has unlocked the mysteries of time travel. This is not the story you think you know. And the rules are only the beginning.
Scientist Beth Darlow has discovered the unimaginable. She's built a machine that allows human consciousness to travel through time—to any point in the traveler's lifetime—and relive moments of their life. An impossible breakthrough, but it's not perfect: the traveler has no way to interact with the past. They can only observe.
After Beth's husband, Colson, the co-creator of the machine, dies in a tragic car accident, Beth is left to raise Isabella—their only daughter—and continue the work they started. Mired in grief and threatened by her ruthless CEO, Beth pushes herself to the limit to prove the value of her technology.
Then the impossible happens. Simply viewing personal history should not alter the present, but with each new observation she makes, her own timeline begins to warp.
As her reality constantly shifts, Beth must solve the puzzles of her past, even if it means forsaking her future.

The Third Rule of Time Travel is so wholly thought provoking and compelling, I found my jaw dropped over and over. While the whole “secret company, kind of evil boss” thing felt a little over the top, I adored the story itself, and the complexities of sending oneself back in time. I also really could not help but be drawn to Beth, as she has had such a tough go of things, and now she is struggling with her life’s work. I found it interesting, how the time travel worked, and what the repercussions of said travel were, and how Beth handled it.
Without saying too much, I really loved the way the story unfolded, and found the ending to be satisfying, and kind of perfect for the story. I was engaged throughout, definitely cared about Beth and her struggles, and also was absolutely hooked to the story to find out what the heck was happening with the technology and time.
Bottom Line: Apparently, this week I really like time travel.
